Long reviews
This will take me a while to populate as I want to rewatch and re-review the films I can't fully remember!
My Neighbor Totoro
This is one of the most wholesome yet emotional films I've seen. It might be the perfect film. I put off watching it partly because of its cult following and as I assumed that if was overtly tailored to children, and I regret it. Of course the beautiful Ghibli style is flawless. I loved Mei and Satsuki, I'm not a fan of children but even Mei's crying felt so genuine that I couldn't help but feel for them both.
Seeing the soot sprites for the first time as a Spirited Away fan was so cool! The recurring theme of spirits in Ghibli films is a strong draw them for me, and the forest spirit Totoro is fabulous. He is just the best (the seed growing scene is the best). The story of the mum was perfectly interwoven, it wasn't made out to be a sob story but was gently embedded and gave explanation to the family's life. I'm so ready to rewatch it and bask in its comfort. The scene in the rain, just healing. P.S. Why is Catbus so terrifying, like so cool, but I'd be scared.

This is a very subjective and open to change list! I just thought it would be fun :)
